Noveon Magnetics announced on Wednesday that it has inked a multi-year supply agreement with General Motors to provide rare earth magnets for components in GM's full-size SUVs and trucks. Deliveries to GM have commenced as of July. As the sole operational manufacturer of sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets in the United States, Noveon highlights that automotive manufacturers, particularly those focused on electric vehicles, represent one of the largest industrial consumers of rare earth materials.
