Last Friday, a federal jury in Miami, Florida determined that Tesla bears partial responsibility for a fatal car accident in 2019 and ordered the company to pay a total of $243 million in compensation. This includes approximately $43 million in compensatory damages for the victims and $200 million in punitive damages aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. The tragic accident led to one death and one injury. In response, Tesla stated that the verdict was erroneous and announced its intention to appeal the decision.
