The autonomous driving pioneer WeRide and the mobility giant Uber have jointly announced a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre, marking the official rollout of Robotaxi services on Al Reem Island and Al Maryah Island. This expansion brings the service area to encompass nearly half of Abu Dhabi's core regions, with projections indicating a doubling of order volume. Since the inception of their collaboration in December 2024, WeRide's local Robotaxi fleet has undergone a threefold increase, with ambitious plans to scale up to several hundred vehicles in the near future.
