On July 24, reports emerged that Tesla might struggle to sustain its vehicle delivery pace due to a budget bill recently enacted by the Trump administration. During a Wednesday conference call, Tesla disclosed that its vehicle supply would face pressure as the electric vehicle tax credit is set to expire on September 30. Vaibhav Taneja, Tesla's Chief Financial Officer, advised consumers interested in purchasing a Tesla in the US this year to place their orders promptly, as the company cannot ensure timely delivery for orders placed in late August and beyond. Furthermore, to maximize vehicle production and delivery before the tax credit lapses, Tesla has opted to postpone the development of an affordable model.
