At a recent press conference, Wang Qiang, Director of the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, emphasized that the "intelligent driving" systems currently fitted in vehicles available on the market have not yet attained the capability of "autonomous driving." He underscored that the ultimate responsibility for driving safety remains with the driver. If drivers were to "relinquish control of the steering wheel and divert their attention from the road" while operating these vehicles, they would expose themselves to significant road safety hazards and potential legal consequences.
