Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the incorporation of advanced technology from the Austin Robotaxi project into the standard Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. This includes sophisticated intersection navigation algorithms, robust extreme weather response strategies, and real-time high-precision mapping verification. The goal is to markedly enhance the capabilities of FSD. The enhancements will be fully realized by users with Hardware 4 (HW4), which supports 4K visual processing and multi-modal fusion inference. However, users with Hardware 3 (HW3) may experience limited functionality due to computational limitations. The rollout of the upgraded FSD in Europe and China will hinge on regulatory approval.
