On July 7, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that China will enforce new national standards for passenger car braking systems effective January 1, 2026. These standards necessitate that all newly type-approved passenger vehicles must mandatorily install the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) to bolster road safety. Additionally, regulations pertaining to the kinetic energy recovery systems of new energy vehicles have been introduced, prohibiting the default 'single-pedal mode' for stopping and establishing a threshold for kinetic energy recovery deceleration that triggers the automatic illumination of brake lights.
