On the morning of June 25th, Liu Wei, Minister of Transport, chaired an expert panel discussion focusing on the advancement of smart transportation within the framework of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The discussion emphasized the importance of scientifically formulating plans and underscored the development of smart transportation. Three pivotal points emerged from the meeting: Firstly, to evaluate the current state of smart transportation in China and benchmark it internationally; secondly, to enhance the indicator system for smart transportation during the 15th Five-Year Plan, clarifying medium- and long-term development goals for 2030 and 2035; and thirdly, to devise plans for smart transportation innovation, demonstration, and application projects, seeking diverse financial support and social resource investment to foster comprehensive growth.
