In May, sales of imported diesel passenger vehicles in South Korea plummeted by 60.2% compared to the same period last year, with cumulative sales for the first five months witnessing a 50.4% year-on-year decrease, accounting for merely 1.3% of the overall market share. According to statistics from the Korea Imported Car Association, the continuous surge in sales of new energy vehicle models has significantly reduced the proportion of diesel models in the broader imported passenger vehicle market. Consequently, the market share for diesel vehicles is anticipated to dip below 1% this year.
