Reuters reports that Tesla was sued by the families of three victims on Monday, local time. Last September, a 2024 Tesla Model S veered off the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, colliding with road signs, guardrails, and concrete bridge piers, resulting in the tragic deaths of three occupants. The vehicle, equipped with Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) features, has sparked accusations of defective and excessively dangerous design from the families, who are seeking both compensatory and punitive damages. The car was being driven by David Deryman, who was accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Brooke, at the time of the accident. Notably, Brooke's brother, Max Deryman, who is one of the plaintiffs, was not present in the vehicle during the incident.
