On June 23, the Guangzhou Municipal Government unveiled a three-year blueprint to propel the advancement of the intelligent and connected new energy vehicle sector. The initiative outlines a vision for nurturing 2-3 new energy vehicle enterprises by 2027, each with an annual production capacity surpassing 500,000 units. It also targets a ratio of 1:0.6 between the value of finished vehicles and parts production, signifying a robust supply chain. Furthermore, the plan aims to markedly elevate brand influence and core technological innovation capabilities. Electric vehicle infrastructure will undergo significant enhancements, while fuel cell vehicles will embark on initial commercial applications. In the realm of intelligent and connected vehicles, the plan envisions that over 90% of new vehicles will be at Level L2 or higher, fostering the expansion of autonomous driving demonstration projects and operations. Additionally, the strategy underscores the importance of strengthening the synergy between Guangzhou and Shenzhen to facilitate interconnectivity and interoperability within the core regions of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
