At the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, Huawei's Rotating Chairman, Xu Zhijun, revealed that the share of 5G connected vehicles in China's passenger car sales is anticipated to hit 30% by 2025, with a projected gradual rise to 95% between 2026 and 2030. Xu underscored the necessity for autonomous vehicles to possess robust autonomous perception and decision-making capabilities, alongside independently connected cockpits and vehicle networks. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that 5G connected vehicles are currently confronted with challenges such as intellectual property rights (IPR) disputes, price competitiveness, and inconsistent user experiences, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts across the industry to address these issues.
