On June 13, the State Administration for Market Regulation disclosed that Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. has submitted a recall plan. According to this plan, effective September 27, 2025, Beijing Benz will initiate a recall of 13,447 locally manufactured EQC vehicles produced between November 30, 2018, and September 17, 2022. This recall action is necessitated by a software design flaw in the battery management system of certain vehicles, posing a risk of thermal runaway in the high-voltage battery under extreme conditions.
