On June 9, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a notification outlining the 2025 inspection and supervision program for road motor vehicle manufacturers and their products. The notification underscores a targeted strategy, encompassing visits to vehicle manufacturers and dealerships for vehicle sampling, as well as heightening random audits on models that attract significant public attention and pose potential quality and safety risks. The selected models will be forwarded to specialized testing facilities for rigorous examination. Companies found to be non-compliant with national standards or in violation of production consistency management regulations will face sanctions, including public announcements, suspension of relevant product announcements, and temporary halt on new product declarations.
