Qin Lihong, co-founder of NIO, revealed at the 2025 China Auto Chongqing Forum that by the end of July, the battery swapping route along the renowned 318 National Highway will be fully functional. This route will feature 14 battery swapping stations, extending from Chengdu to Lhasa and further to Mount Everest Base Camp, offering users a seamless battery swapping experience throughout their journey. Consequently, travelers along the Sichuan-Tibet route will enjoy the convenience of an autonomous drive without the need for refueling or charging stops.
