Rumors in China have suggested that Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system can recognize traffic police gestures. However, extensive testing by bloggers has revealed that the vehicle's automatic stopping feature is actually triggered by a pedestrian protection mechanism, rather than the recognition of traffic police gestures. Tests have consistently demonstrated that regardless of whether the pedestrian is dressed in a traffic police uniform, the FSD system will automatically halt when it detects a pedestrian who may be about to cross the road. Once the potential hazard has passed, the vehicle will resume driving. This behavior is attributed to the pedestrian protection and risk avoidance mechanisms integrated into the FSD system and is independent of the navigation system.
