June 3, news: Data unveiled by the Norwegian Road Federation (OFV) on Monday revealed that Tesla registered 2,600 new vehicles in Norway in May, marking a remarkable 213% surge compared to the same period last year. Amidst a downturn in Tesla's new car sales in Spain, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden during May, the company has exhibited robust performance in the Norwegian market. According to Christina Bu, Secretary-General of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association (NEVA), the Model Y's popularity in Norway stems primarily from its cost-effectiveness and ability to fulfill Norwegian consumers' demands for ample storage space, high ground clearance, all-wheel drive, and trailer hitches. Rico Luman, Senior Industry Economist for Transportation and Logistics at ING, finds Tesla's sales figures in Norway "quite astonishing" and notes that Norway's incentives make electric vehicles the preferred choice, thus fueling a sales surge. Luman further predicts that with the delivery of the new Model Y, Tesla's sales in Norway are anticipated to continue their rebound in June.
