In May 2025, Shanghai's Nangang Port established a new milestone by efficiently managing over 120,000 commercial vehicles in a single month. Notably, more than 71,000 of these vehicles were exported, showcasing a remarkable year-on-year surge of 204.4%. To guarantee the smooth and secure operation of roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels, the Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration implemented a combination of on-site and remote electronic escort measures, alongside intensified safety inspections and water area surveillance. Nangang Port stands as a vital node in China's automobile export network, servicing 13 international routes and reaching 72 countries and regions. Looking ahead, the upcoming commissioning of the second phase of the project promises to further elevate the port's operational efficiency.
