On May 30, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, in collaboration with eight other departments, unveiled the "Work Plan for the Construction of Regional Centers for Recycling and Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Batteries in Sichuan Province." This comprehensive plan divides Sichuan into 4-5 recycling regions, taking into account the number of new energy vehicles, the distribution of leading enterprises, and the status of existing comprehensive utilization projects. The plan mandates the implementation of regionalized environmental management and control. Within each designated region, enterprises or consortia possessing robust comprehensive capabilities will spearhead the establishment of multi-functional regional centers. These centers will integrate the recovery, storage, transportation, dismantling, testing, and comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries. The goal is to forge a recycling and utilization system that seamlessly integrates online and offline components, engaging upstream and downstream enterprises across the entire industrial chain. Ultimately, the plan aims to gradually establish a comprehensive, orderly, and efficient recycling and utilization system for new energy vehicle batteries in Sichuan Province.
