Xiaomi Auto has welcomed Chen Guang, the former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of FAW Nanjing Research Institute, to its ranks. In his new role, Chen will oversee assisted driving perception and report directly to Ye Hangjun. This appointment follows the transfer of Cai Rui, the previous incumbent of this position, to Xiaomi's robotics business unit. During his tenure at FAW, Chen Guang spearheaded the development of autonomous driving technology, culminating in the successful creation of the Hongqi third-generation L4 autonomous taxi. Following the dissolution of FAW Nanjing Research Institute, employees were given the option of receiving compensation or seeking internal transfers. Xiaomi Auto's assisted driving team, led by Chen Long, is deeply committed to "end-to-end" algorithm and technology pre-research. The team has made notable strides in the domain of Vision-Language-Action (VLA) fusion models and anticipates launching a new generation of solutions within the year.
