From January to April 2025, global vehicle sales totaled 30.26 million units, with 6.18 million of these being new energy vehicles. During this period, new energy vehicles, broadly defined, constituted 27.6% of global vehicle sales, marking a 1.3 percentage point increase from the entire year of 2024. Narrowly speaking, new energy vehicles accounted for 20.4%, showcasing a robust growth trend. More specifically, pure electric vehicles accounted for 13.5%, plug-in hybrid vehicles accounted for 6.9%, hybrid vehicles accounted for 7.2%, and the proportion of oil-electric hybrid vehicles also witnessed an increase.
