Huawei has successfully transferred the 'Shangjie' trademark to SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, marking the joint venture's entry into the mid-to-high-end smart electric vehicle market with a brand tailored for young consumers. The inaugural SUV model, a refined version of the Roewe 'ES39', is anticipated to debut in autumn 2025, priced at approximately 200,000 yuan. The production facility, situated in the Lingang New Area, boasts an annual capacity of 280,000 vehicles, promising to bolster the automotive industry chain by a potential 50 billion yuan annually. SAIC, in collaboration with the Lingang Administrative Committee, is committed to initiating the project in May, aiming for a timely market release in autumn.
