In response to evolving market dynamics, BMW China has recalibrated its production forecasts for electric vehicle models, encompassing both current BMW and MINI brand offerings and upcoming next-generation electric vehicles scheduled for launch in 2026. Notably, some models have seen their estimated production volumes trimmed by over 20%, a decision that could potentially elicit claims from suppliers. Commencing in 2024, BMW will adopt a rolling adjustment approach to its production forecasts, with recent adjustments being particularly pronounced. The automaker aims to introduce six new-generation electric vehicle models within the next two years and will unveil its first China-exclusive model, the iX3L, at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. A long-wheelbase version of this model will be manufactured at BMW's Shenyang plant next year. This strategic maneuver underscores BMW's agile adaptability to the Chinese electric vehicle market.
