Foxconn has announced plans to invest a whopping $1.5 billion in the construction of a display module factory in proximity to Chennai, India. This initiative aims to further expand Apple's supply chain footprint in the region. Despite opposition from former US President Trump, the factory will continue to supply components to Apple, reinforcing the company's production network in India. This significant investment stands as one of the largest projects in India's electronics sector and is anticipated to generate approximately 14,000 job opportunities. As Apple shifts its manufacturing focus, India is projected to contribute 32% of global iPhone production by 2025.
