By 2024, the global sales of electric vehicles (EVs) are projected to surpass 17 million units, marking a pivotal milestone as they capture one-fifth of the market share for the first time. This represents a notable year-on-year increase of 3.5 million units, indicative of robust growth in the sector. China continues to dominate the EV market, with sales reaching 11 million units, accounting for nearly half of the global total. On Chinese roads, an impressive one out of every ten vehicles is now an electric car. According to the International Energy Agency, global EV sales are anticipated to exceed 20 million units this year, further underscoring the trend towards electrification in the automotive industry.
