WeRide has embarked on trial operations of fully autonomous Robotaxis in Abu Dhabi, aiming to achieve open-road operations without safety officers by the second quarter of 2025, and subsequently expand its services to Mariya Island and Reem Island. Since 2021, WeRide has been offering autonomous driving services across various regions of Abu Dhabi. In a significant milestone, the company obtained the first national-level autonomous driving license for all vehicle types in the entire United Arab Emirates region in July 2023, thereby accelerating its global business expansion.
