On May 12, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. revealed that amidst persistent performance declines, the company has opted to dismiss more than 10,000 employees in Japan and internationally, bringing the cumulative tally of job cuts to 20,000. This represents roughly 15% of Nissan's total workforce. The announcement will be formally made during the financial report conference on the 13th. Prior to this, in November of last year, Nissan had already announced a 20% reduction in its global production capacity and layoffs of 9,000 employees. This additional round of layoffs underscores the company's commitment to improving its business performance.
