The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) recently published its April report on the national passenger vehicle market analysis, revealing that retail sales of Chinese independent auto brands reached 1.15 million units. This figure represents a 31% year-on-year increase and a 5% month-on-month decline. During the same month, independent brands accounted for 65.5% of the domestic retail market share, marking an 8 percentage point increase compared to the previous year.

Importantly, the report noted that these independent Chinese auto brands are not currently sold in the United States, therefore, they will not be impacted by any tariffs imposed on Chinese goods entering the U.S. market.
