BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. and Brilliance BMW Automobile Co., Ltd. have announced a recall plan for a total of 26,846 imported and domestically produced 5 Series and X5 vehicles, commencing from June 25, 2025. The recall is necessitated by a potential manufacturing defect in the power connector of the vehicle's starter generator. In extreme scenarios, this defect could lead to the vehicle stalling while in motion or cause a fire in the engine compartment. To address this issue, the company will offer a free replacement of the starter generator and associated cables for all affected vehicles, aiming to eliminate any potential hazards.
