On May 9, it was reported that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) had rejected Tesla's application to register "Robotaxi" as a trademark on Tuesday. Another of Tesla's applications, seeking to register "Robotaxi" specifically for ride-hailing services, remains under review. The USPTO has issued a non-final office action, granting Tesla a three-month window to respond; failure to do so will result in the abandonment of the application. Additionally, Tesla's application for the "Cybercab" trademark has been suspended due to conflicting applications from other companies for similar "Cyber" trademarks.
