On April 29, the Lingang New Area Management Committee, Lingang Group, and SAIC Motor jointly signed the contract for the "Shangjie" project, signaling the establishment of the "Shangjie" high-end intelligent new energy vehicle production base and power battery support project in Lingang. With an initial investment of approximately RMB 6 billion, the project aims to assemble a professional team of over 5,000 individuals and is scheduled to commence construction in May, targeting the autumn of 2025 for the launch of its first model. This strategic initiative is poised to significantly bolster SAIC Motor's presence and expansion within the burgeoning new energy vehicle sector.
