During the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on April 28, Oliver Blume, the CEO of Porsche, disclosed that the company might discontinue selling electric vehicles in China over the next two to three years. In an interview, Blume acknowledged Porsche's advancements in the electric vehicle sector but noted that sales of electric vehicles in the Chinese market have been "comparatively low," without revealing specific sales figures. Last April, Porsche introduced the fully electric Macan and Taycan 4 in China, with starting retail prices of 728,000 yuan and 1,038,000 yuan, respectively. Nonetheless, data indicates that global deliveries of the Taycan in the first three quarters of 2024 totaled just 14,000 units, marking a 50% year-on-year decline, suggesting that Porsche's electric vehicle models are encountering sales hurdles in both global and Chinese markets. The Taycan 4 is a mid-to-large-sized fully electric vehicle in Porsche's lineup.
