A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), He Yadong, revealed that following the video conference held on April 8 between Minister Wang Wentao and the EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Šefčovič, the technical teams from China and the EU have been engaged in intensive communications concerning price commitments for electric vehicles, as well as trade and investment cooperation. These efforts are aimed at expediting the consultation process. Both parties have previously agreed to promptly commence negotiations on price commitments for electric vehicles and to explore investment cooperation within the China-EU automotive industry. China expresses its desire to collaborate with the EU in effectively managing economic and trade frictions through dialogue and consultation, thereby deepening bilateral pragmatic cooperation and infusing greater certainty and positive momentum into both the China-EU and global economies.
