At the Shanghai Auto Show on April 24, Xiao Yong, the head of marketing for Guangzhou Automobile Group's Aion, revealed that the official standardization of promotional guidelines and technical certifications for intelligent driver assistance systems is particularly advantageous for Aion, a company with robust technological reserves and a pragmatic approach. Xiao Yong emphasized that Aion is not in a race to be the first to market L4-level products but rather aims to establish itself as the safest player in the industry. During the show, Aion and Didi Chuxing jointly unveiled an L4-level, highly autonomous Robotaxi model, equipped with an infrared camera and 10 LiDAR sensors (consisting of 4 long-range LiDARs and 6 blind-spot compensation LiDARs), with anticipated deliveries scheduled for the end of 2025.
