Tesla's electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck, is grappling with sluggish sales and has been forced to scale back production. According to a report by Business Insider, George Saliba, the owner and general manager of J&S AutoHaus, a luxury car and SUV dealership in New Jersey, revealed that Cybertruck sales are currently underperforming, with the once-coveted status symbol now struggling to find buyers. Data indicates that since production commenced at the end of 2023, the Cybertruck's market performance has drastically fallen short of expectations. In the first quarter of 2025, deliveries nosedived by 50.8%, resulting in a significant inventory backlog. In an attempt to boost sales, Tesla has deployed promotional strategies, including discounts and offering lifetime free Supercharging services, yet these measures have failed to yield substantial improvements. Confronted with this market challenge, Tesla has been compelled to reduce Cybertruck production.
