On April 21st, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) issued a proposal advocating for the standardization of the promotion and application of driving assistance technologies. The proposal underscores the importance of enterprises adhering strictly to national standards in their marketing and promotional activities. It stipulates that enterprises must refrain from false and excessive marketing, avoid the use of vague or misleading language, and ensure that function names are scientifically rigorous. This is aimed at mitigating the risks of misuse and abuse by drivers. Should any false information be disseminated, enterprises are mandated to promptly clarify and rectify the situation, actively assuming their corporate and social responsibilities.
Furthermore, the proposal emphasizes the need for enterprises to establish a user notification mechanism. This mechanism should comprehensively inform drivers of their responsibilities, system information, correct usage methods, and emergency response measures. By ensuring that users clearly understand the distinction between driving assistance and autonomous driving, the proposal aims to foster a collective effort in maintaining road safety.
