On April 1, a Xiaomi spokesperson took to Weibo to announce that a Xiaomi SU7 Standard Edition vehicle was involved in a tragic accident on the Chiqi section of the Dezhou-Shangrao Expressway at 22:44 on March 29, 2025. Xiaomi extended its heartfelt condolences to all affected by the incident. Initial investigations reveal that prior to the accident, the vehicle was operating with the NOA intelligent assisted driving function and was traveling at a speed of 116 kilometers per hour. However, due to ongoing construction, the original lane had been blocked off with barricades and rerouted to an opposing lane. Upon detecting the obstacle, the vehicle promptly issued an alarm and initiated deceleration. Despite this, the driver took manual control, continued to slow down, and attempted to navigate the turn, but the vehicle ultimately collided with a median cement pillar at a speed of approximately 97 kilometers per hour just prior to impact.
