During the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum 2025 held on March 30, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, made a projection that retail sales of narrowly defined passenger vehicles will hit 23.3 million units in 2025, marking a 2% year-on-year growth. Of this total, domestic sales are anticipated to reach approximately 23 million units, reflecting a 3% year-on-year increase. Additionally, Cui estimated that wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles will soar to 15.7 million units, signifying a remarkable 28% year-on-year jump.
