During the 2025 China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, projected that retail sales of narrowly defined passenger vehicles will amount to 23.3 million units in 2025, signifying a 2% year-on-year increase. Of this total, domestic sales are anticipated to reach 23 million units, reflecting a 3% year-on-year growth. Regarding wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles, Cui Dongshu estimates them to reach 15.7 million units, representing a substantial 28% year-on-year rise.
