On the morning of March 24, Zheng Bei, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), met with Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the BMW Group. The meeting saw both parties engage in in-depth discussions on China-EU cooperation within the automotive industry. Zheng Bei highlighted that China, being the world's largest automotive market, actively fosters openness in the automotive sector and supports BMW's efforts to bolster research and development in China, advance key projects, and collaborate with Chinese enterprises to jointly explore the global market. Zipse affirmed that China remains BMW's largest individual market, and the company holds a positive outlook on China's economic development prospects. He pledged that BMW will continue to increase its investments in China, oppose trade protectionism, and partner with Chinese entities to expand the global new energy vehicle industry chain.
