According to data released by the Indonesian Automobile Industry Association on March 11, Indonesia's car sales in February recorded a 2.2% year-on-year increase, marking the first growth since June 2023. This positive trend was primarily fueled by a surge in electric vehicle sales from Chinese brands. Prior to this, Indonesian car sales had grappled with challenges stemming from weakened consumer purchasing power and a diminished willingness to purchase vehicles during the election period. This uptick signifies the commencement of a recovery in the automotive market of Southeast Asia's largest economy.
