Tech blog The Verge reports that a video uploaded to the YouTube channel "I Love Cars" has revealed that Waymo, Google's autonomous driving subsidiary, is jointly testing autonomous taxis with ZEEKR on public roads. The test vehicles have now been unveiled, following several months of camouflaged testing by Waymo. The model on display is believed to be the ZEEKR RT, which made its debut at CES 2025 in January and is anticipated to enter mass production within the year. The ZEEKR RT is equipped with a primary lidar system mounted on the roof, multiple sensors around the vehicle's body, and additional exterior lighting signals to enhance passenger recognition.
