During the economic-focused press conference of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao announced that as of March 5, 2025, the government had received over 700,000 applications for car replacement and upgrade subsidies, coupled with over 300,000 applications for car scrapping and upgrade subsidies, amounting to a grand total of more than 1 million applications.
