On March 3, 2025, BYD Co., Ltd. announced the signing of a placement agreement with Goldman Sachs (Asia), the Hong Kong Branch of UBS AG, and CLSA. Under the terms of the agreement, BYD plans to issue 129.8 million new H shares, each with a par value of RMB 1 and a placement price of HK$335.2 per share. This price represents a 7.8% discount to the closing price on that day. The newly placed shares account for approximately 11.82% of the existing issued H shares and 4.46% of the company's total issued shares. The total proceeds from this placement are expected to amount to approximately HK$43.509 billion, with a net amount of approximately HK$43.383 billion.

The funds raised will be allocated towards R&D investment, overseas business expansion, supplementing working capital, and general corporate purposes. This placement stands out as not only the largest equity refinancing project in the global automotive industry but also the second-largest accelerated bookbuild offering in the Hong Kong market.

As a pioneering enterprise in the fields of new energy vehicles, batteries, electronics, and rail transit, BYD's fundraising initiative is set to further solidify its leading position in the global new energy vehicle market.
