On February 28, during a press conference held at its Munich plant in Germany, BMW Group announced that by 2027, the facility will fully transition into a dedicated production base for pure electric vehicles. Currently, the plant is ramping up preparations for the manufacturing of the "New Generation" electric vehicle models, with an official production start scheduled for summer 2026. Foreseeing a surge in global demand for pure electric vehicles by 2030, BMW Group is spearheading the transition at its Munich plant, expanding its electric vehicle production capacity. To facilitate this, the plant is constructing three new production halls, encompassing body construction, final assembly lines, and associated production logistics, to ensure a seamless launch of the "New Generation" models.
