A recent research report by China Securities highlights BYD's presentation at an intelligent driving conference on February 10, 2025, showcasing its advancements and commercial achievements in intelligent driving systems. BYD intends to integrate cutting-edge intelligent driving technology into models priced as low as RMB 70,000 by 2025, a strategic move anticipated to catalyze a similar shift among industry peers. This initiative is poised to accelerate the proliferation of intelligent driving technology across the automotive sector, particularly in more affordable vehicles. EO Intelligence data indicates that in 2024, the penetration rate of L2+ (high-speed NOA) systems stood at 8%, whereas L2+ (urban NOA) systems had a 0% penetration rate. By 2030, these figures are forecast to soar to 55% and 25%, respectively. Against the backdrop of promoting equal access to intelligent driving technology, the penetration rate of such systems is expected to surge, significantly boosting shipments and driving upgrades in automotive electronic components such as lidar, cameras, computing power chips, and domain controllers. The related demand for these components is anticipated to experience a remarkable upswing.
