In January, passenger car registrations in the European Union (EU) declined by 2.6% year-on-year, totaling 831,201 units. This decrease was primarily attributed to drops in France, Italy, and Germany, despite a positive uptick in Spain. According to statistics from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, France experienced the steepest decline with a 6.2% fall, followed by Italy with a 5.8% decrease and Germany with a 2.8% drop. Conversely, Spain witnessed a 5.3% increase in registrations. These numbers mirror the broader trend observed in the EU's automotive market.
