BYD's News Anti-Fraud Office recently published an article urging vehicle owners to be vigilant against scams that impersonate BYD vehicle recall notices. Fraudsters forge recall notices bearing the BYD logo, falsely claiming that certain batches of vehicles have anomalies in their brake pedal stopper pads. They impersonate the State Administration for Market Regulation and use tactics such as limited-time processing and threats of warranty cancellation if overdue to pressure car owners into clicking phishing websites, scanning QR codes, or providing bank card numbers and verification codes, or making transfers. BYD has clarified the proper notification and inquiry channels for official recall information and made it clear that official recalls will never request users' financial information or impose additional conditions, reminding car owners to verify suspicious information through official channels.
