Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd., SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., and FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. have filed recall plans with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective January 15, 2027, the three companies will recall over 600,000 imported Golf and Tiguan vehicles, along with domestically produced Teramont, Teramont X, Viloran, Audi Q6, Talagon, and Audi Q3 series vehicles manufactured during specific periods. In the affected vehicles, prolonged exposure to moisture and road de-icing salt may cause the right-side fixing bolts of the subframe and steering gear to corrode and, in severe cases, fracture. This can result in failure of the right-side connection of the steering gear and restricted steering function, posing a safety hazard. The three companies will have authorized dealers replace the improved right-side steering gear fixing bolts free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
