According to data from the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), vehicle imports in September totaled 21,000 units, down 6.1% month-on-month and 48.7% year-on-year. The import value stood at US$1.26 billion, down 11.4% month-on-month and 38.1% year-on-year. From January to September, vehicle imports reached 288,000 units, down 20.1% year-on-year, with an import value of US$14.25 billion, down 21.9% year-on-year.
